Traffic Signal Infrastructure Expertise

Vaughan Traffic Consulting

Founded in 2024, Vaughan Traffic Consulting helps public agencies, engineering firms, and contractors improve design quality and reduce construction risk in traffic signal and electrical infrastructure projects. We bring field‑tested insight to the design process, ensuring that plans are buildable, coordinated, and aligned with real‑world conditions and rigorous agency standards.

Our role is focused and disciplined: we evaluate projects for constructability, sequencing, and execution risk before construction begins. The goal is simple—prevent avoidable problems, protect public resources, and support smoother project delivery.

Founder

Patrick Vaughan

I bring more than 40 years of experience in traffic signal and electrical infrastructure, with a career that spans underground laborer, power‑line climber, foreman, superintendent, estimator, and consultant. This full‑spectrum background gives me a clear understanding of both engineering intent and field execution.

I’ve led hundreds of public‑sector projects across the San Diego region, managing multimillion‑dollar scopes and coordinating with utilities and traffic engineering teams. My work includes traffic signals, interconnect systems, meter pedestals, fiber networks, street lighting, and underground utility installations and conversions.

A core strength of my work is identifying design issues before they become costly field problems. I routinely catch conflicts, omissions, ADA impacts, phasing errors, and constructability risks that can add months or years to a project.
